Draped in Blue

George Kotsonis woman in blue

Draped in Blue

She stands patiently

Waiting for you

Her hands clutching gently

At a hope, some thought

That you’ll show

And finally

Let it all out

Let it be known

Draped in Blue

With the hue

Kissing her pale skin

Soaking deeply in

The shadows cast

A soft light

Masking the past

With all it’s might

But those…blue eyes…

She’s Draped in Blue

Waiting for you

The doorway being her only view

Staring at the night sky

Counting the stars

Wishing upon something up there

Be it the stars or the moon

Or some wild fate

to be told soon

She speaks nothing

Until she finds proof

And those…haunting blues…

Draped in Blue

She shows no smiles

Nothing but the mood

To match the hue

Her form soft & mild

A small spark of light

Still shines from inside

A spark of hope, a spark of pride

A spark…she Dare Not

Let die

And…those…eyes…

Filled with loss

Filled with surprise

Filled with the pain

Of a Thousand Lives

Those…eyes…

Daunting at times

Kind at others

Soft yet hard

Gentle yet firm

They are the windows

Into her mind

It’s where she cries

It’s where love dies

It’s where you’ll see her pride

Crumble to ashes & rubble

As she begs for no more

Good byes

Those eyes….

Dream of a time

When Blue is no longer the hue

When her soul finds a harbor

When her heart finds a home

Her body has no choice left

But to go along

But for now

She’s Draped in Blue

In that hue

That leaves one all misty eyed

She’s bruised but not broken

She’s torn but un-moving

She’s ripped but still healing

She’s just waiting…

On you

As she wears

Her Blues
