Unknown Love

Alone and crying

In the rain

Remembering how

I left again

Will these tears

Drown in my pain?

Or will this pain

Just leave some stain?

The faces, the hearts

That I’ve craved

So much time

So many I tried to save

Did I not see them?

Or how they saw me?

Did I walk

Away too quickly?

I’m sorry to my unknown love

Sorry I didn’t rise above

Sorry I never saw you coming

Sorry I never knew your love

Did I miss some

Chance out there?

Or was it something

My heart couldn’t dare?

Was I too unfocused then?

Or too focused enough for them

Were they trying way too hard?

When I was falling apart like shards

My heart is blind

And so have been my eyes

Maybe it’s just

The way I disguise my pride

Was I just too

Afraid to try?

Until we finally

Had to say goodbye

I’m sorry to my unknown love

Sorry I didn’t rise above

Sorry I never saw you coming

Sorry I never knew your love

I wish I’d seen you

Like you saw me

I wish I knew you

Like you knew me

I wish I loved you

Like you loved me

I’m sorry to my unknown love

Sorry I didn’t rise above

Sorry I never saw you coming

Sorry I never knew your love

Draped in Blue

George Kotsonis woman in blue

Draped in Blue

She stands patiently

Waiting for you

Her hands clutching gently

At a hope, some thought

That you’ll show

And finally

Let it all out

Let it be known

Draped in Blue

With the hue

Kissing her pale skin

Soaking deeply in

The shadows cast

A soft light

Masking the past

With all it’s might

But those…blue eyes…

She’s Draped in Blue

Waiting for you

The doorway being her only view

Staring at the night sky

Counting the stars

Wishing upon something up there

Be it the stars or the moon

Or some wild fate

to be told soon

She speaks nothing

Until she finds proof

And those…haunting blues…

Draped in Blue

She shows no smiles

Nothing but the mood

To match the hue

Her form soft & mild

A small spark of light

Still shines from inside

A spark of hope, a spark of pride

A spark…she Dare Not

Let die

And…those…eyes…

Filled with loss

Filled with surprise

Filled with the pain

Of a Thousand Lives

Those…eyes…

Daunting at times

Kind at others

Soft yet hard

Gentle yet firm

They are the windows

Into her mind

It’s where she cries

It’s where love dies

It’s where you’ll see her pride

Crumble to ashes & rubble

As she begs for no more

Good byes

Those eyes….

Dream of a time

When Blue is no longer the hue

When her soul finds a harbor

When her heart finds a home

Her body has no choice left

But to go along

But for now

She’s Draped in Blue

In that hue

That leaves one all misty eyed

She’s bruised but not broken

She’s torn but un-moving

She’s ripped but still healing

She’s just waiting…

On you

As she wears

Her Blues

Lady of Blue

Anna Razumovskaya blue dancer

Image Anna Razumovskaya

was there color

before her?

was my life just

black & white

before she smiled?

her sweet blue eyes

were they always

that…color?

did she always

paint the world

as she dances & sings

gliding through

time sweetly?

did she always

look so beautiful?

did I not ever notice

before?

are those tears

she’s crying?

does the music

move her so?

or does something else

linger

in her soul?

would she say

if I dared ask?

or would she

just smile

& laugh?

never fear

the strings speak to her

they make her move

so lightly

she’s an angel for sure

this woman

this girl

this lady of blue

I’ll let her paint my world

for just about

let’s say…for all time
